Film Screening and Q&A with Eric Byler

Filmmaker Eric Byler (Charlotte, Sometimes,) will screen My Life Disoriented, a television pilot that recently debuted on PBS, and clips from his feature film, Americanese, which will open in theaters nationwide in August. He will also discuss the intersection of art and political engagement with clips from his documentary-inprogress on Asian American involvement in contemporary politics.

Sentenced Home Documentary Screening

Tuesday, April 17
7:30-9:30 pm, Social Sciences 122

Sentenced Home follows the lives of three Cambodian American men who broke the law in their late teens and served time in prison, but were later informed by the government that because of their criminal records, they would soon be deported to Cambodia. The documentary screening will be followed by a Q & A with David Grabbias, one of the directors, and Many Uch, one of the deportees featured in the documentary.
