Afro-Mexican Studies Symposium: Scholars from the U.S. and Mexico present the latest research on Afro-Mexican history and culture.

Organized by the Center for the Study of Race, Politics and Culture and the Friedrich Katz Center for Mexican Studies at the University of Chicago in conjunction with the MFACM’s exhibition, The African Presence in Mexico: From Yanga to the Present (through September 3, 2006). Co-sponsored by the Center for Latin American Studies at the University of Chicago and Latin American and Latino Studies at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
