Revisiting the Dream in the Aftermath of Katrina: Race, Class, and Politics in America

Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist William Raspberry will moderate a panel discussion on the impact of Hurricane Katrina, government and community responses, and the reflection on Martin Luther King's dream in the aftermath of Katrina. Panelists include Waldo E. Johnson, Jr., Associate Professor and Director of the Center for the Study of Race, Politics, and Culture; and Michael Dawson, MacArthur Distinguished Service Professor in Political Science and the College, and Faculty Affiliate, Center for the Study of Race, Politics, and Culture.
The event is free and open to the public, and is co-sponsored by SSA's African American Student Association and the Center for the Study of Race, Politics, and Culture at the University of Chicago.
