Afeni Shakur—CSRPC Annual Public Lecture

Afeni Shakur was a former leader of the Black Panther Party in New York and is the mother of slain hip hop artist, Tupac Shakur. Commemorating the 40th anniversary of the founding of the Black Panther Party for Self-Defense and the 10th anniversary of the death of Tupac Shakur, the Center for the Study of Race, Politics and Culture at the University of Chicago welcomes Afeni Shakur to the campus and the larger Chicago community for the Center's Annual Public Lecture.
