On Thursday, Oct. 19th, Join author, researcher and University of Chicago Professor of Political Science Cathy J. Cohen for a conversation wth Andrea Ritchie about her recently released book, "Invisible No More: Police Violence Against Black Women and Women of Color." This dynamic discussion will uncover the multiple forms and contexts of police violence against women of color through a historical and a Black queer feminist lens, explore strategies to challenge the conditions that produce them, and push us to radically re-envision our approaches to violence and safety. Free & open to the public

Ritchie will also participate in a discussion with local activists and scholars at UIC on Wednesday, Oct. 18th from 2-4pm at the Hull House Museum, 810 S. Halsted.
