Wheat Paste Viaducts artfully depicts urban decay transformed by radical acts of creativity. This electronic music and media arts ensemble was formed in early 2015 by musicians, Aquil Charlton and Nick Wilson, and joined by filmmaker, George Schaefer later that year. Appearing at eclectic venues including IIT Radio, Elastic Arts, and "16mm Film Night" in East Garfield Park, the group combines their sound and visual practices in a collaborative process to create new forms, experienced in the real-time of performance.
Presented by Arts + Public Life, the Center for the Study of Race, Politics, and Culture, Logan Center Exhibitions, and Black Artists Retreat 2016.
